The white owl’s visit.

From the very beginning of our presence in La Rosola, at the time we started the renovation of the house and the planting of our vineyard and olive grove, we had the nightly visit of a white owl. From the high branches of our old stone oaks she sang most evenings in Spring and Summer.

When we thought of the wine we would only produce with specially selected barriques and depending on the year, we thought of our owl, and how she either comes or not, and the secret is to be open to enjoy her beautiful presence and mystic singing when she is there. With Canto Della Civetta (Hooting Owl) we would be open to what our vineyard gave us best in each particular year.

The name has also deep ties to Volterra, since here the owl is a bird that brings good luck.
