Our finest oil

Resting 430 metres above sea level, Monterosola has approx. 5 hectares of olive groves which are located on the western slopes of the estate facing towards the Tyrrhenian sea. Here, the olive trees enjoy a pure breeze which naturally aerates the branches keeping the olives in optimum health.

We have a selection of varieties of olive tree growing organically here at Monterosola, these include Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino and Lazzaro from Volterra, each of which are famous for their impeccable quality of flavour.

During the month of November our olives are gathered by hand and meticulously sorted, selecting only the premium fruit. We only use the very best olives in our oil and remain true to Monterosola’s philosophy that quality is key.

Each winter our olives are cold pressed as soon as they are harvested to ensure that the oil’s delicious peppery flavour and its vibrant green colour are captured without delay. Our extra virgin olive oil is perfectly delicious simply drizzled over some lightly toasted bread where its fresh and fruity character can be fully enjoyed.
